hi, i’m s.j.a. welcome to my film page.

i am a filmmaker, transdisciplinary researcher, & cyber griot based in philadelphia, known for my work across the realms of neuroscience & cinema. my audiovisual works have been showcased domestically and internationally, often as woven multimedia tapestries exploring themes of selfhood, ancestral knowledge, & metanarrativity.

my cinema practice involves writing, directing, & editing narrative and experimental projects, and i’ve worked as a commercial editor, narrative designer & creative consultant for private & corporate clients, including HBO, TELFAR TV, princeton university, & blackstar film institute.

in 2025 i officially launched AMPERSAND M. WORX, my creative lab • studio practice • multimedia archive. through an experimental media praxis melding together my scientific & artistic training, i get to explore, encode, & illuminate multidimensional narrative landscapes.

TECH[TON]IK (2023). experimental film. TECH[TON]IK explores ‘channeling’, time travel, and remix. it sources from numerous archives to explore the ‘techno somatic’: healing practices of sound moving through body and body through sound. this film was featured as part of a larger audiovisual triptych installation showcased during sound Images: visual frequency and the black imaginary, a group exhibition of student work composed in conjunction with the collaboratorium for radical aesthetics at princeton university (curated by dr. tina campt)

GODSPEED (2020). short film. a visual poem about womanhood, personhood, and the passage of identity from mother to daughter.
